The AquaFil Project deals with issues related to local management of water resources and rivers, as well as environmental education. A specific goal of the project is to share with Romanian and Bulgarian partner territories the experience that partners from France and Luxembourg have gained.

To achieve this, the AquaFil Project has set the following goals:

- Improve and provide coordination for river management being implemented in partner territories

- Develop and ensure consistency of local policies and initiatives in the field of environmental education on water resources

- Increase “green-citizenship” of populations and economical participants in partner territories

- Support the municipalities of Alba Iulia and Sliven in their integration to the European Union
